For soccer cards and football cards alike

Soccer card scanner: identify the card, then see what it sold for

The 2026 World Cup ended on July 19 and the boxes it sold are being sorted now. SnapCard scans one soccer card at a time, names the set, parallel and player, shows recent closed sales from eBay, Goldin, Heritage, PWCC and Pristine, and estimates condition on the PSA 1–10 scale.

A soccer card scanner app identifies a football or soccer card from a photo and returns recent sold prices for that exact card and parallel. SnapCard covers Panini Prizm World Cup, Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions, Topps Merlin, Panini Select and Match Attax, pulls sales from eBay and four auction houses, and estimates the condition on the PSA 1 to 10 scale.

Scanning a soccer card in three moves

Single card, front photo, optional back. No login and no typing of set codes.

  1. 1

    Frame the front

Put the card on a plain background and hold the phone level. Chrome and Prizm surfaces reflect, so tilt away from the light until the glare clears. The app identifies set, year, player and any parallel printed on the card.

  2. 2

Flip it for a condition read

The back image is optional. It gives the PSA-scale estimate a second look at corners and edge chipping, the usual reason a Chrome card grades a 9 rather than a 10.

  3. 3

Check the sales and store it

Recent closed sales appear with platform and date, next to the condition estimate. Add the card to a binder, record the purchase price, and the collection screen keeps a running total.

Soccer cards or football cards: one hobby, two vocabularies

An American collector types soccer card scanner; a collector in Leeds or Lisbon types football card value. The cards are the same. What differs is the product mix. US collectors lean on Panini Prizm and Select, while UK and European collectors grew up on Match Attax, Panini stickers and, since 2020, Topps Chrome UEFA Club Competitions. SnapCard files all of them under soccer.

One caveat for the UK reader. Sold prices are shown as each marketplace recorded the sale, and most Chrome and Prizm volume closes on eBay's US site in dollars. Compare against a UK listing only after converting.

The 2026 World Cup and what it did to Prizm and Chrome prices

The tournament ran June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada and Mexico, the first World Cup on American soil since 1994. Panini Prizm World Cup 2026 was the flagship product, with Silver Prizms as the entry point and colored parallels numbered to 25 or fewer as the chase. Winners spike and eliminated favorites drift in the weeks after a final, so a June sale tells you less than an August one.

The names driving searches as of 2026 are Lamine Yamal and Endrick, whose first Chrome and Prizm cards from 2023-24 and 2024-25 count as their modern rookies. The scanner shows the exact copies that closed rather than a blended figure.

Stickers and Match Attax do not price like Chrome

A 2004-05 Panini Megacracks Messi and a 2002 Panini Sports Ronaldo are rookie-era items that sell for thousands in high grade, but they are exceptions. A typical loose sticker or Match Attax base card sells for well under a dollar as of 2026. SnapCard identifies them and shows whatever closed sales exist, which for common stickers can be very few.

Messi and Ronaldo rookies versus modern chase rookies

The two most searched names in the hobby have rookie cards in products most collectors have never handled. Messi's is the 2004-05 Panini Megacracks, card 71, a Spanish league issue. Ronaldo's is the 2002 Panini Sports card from his Sporting Lisbon season. Both sell a few times a year in top grades, at five- and six-figure results as of 2026.

Modern chase rookies work the opposite way. A Yamal or Endrick refractor has a large print run, a known graded population and hundreds of sales a month, so the price is transparent but volatile. A months-old Goldin or Heritage result for a Megacracks Messi is a reference point, not a live quote.

  • Set and year: the 2004-05 Megacracks is the Messi card the market means; later Megacracks are not rookies
  • Grade: a PSA 8 and a PSA 10 of the same rookie-era card can differ by ten times
  • Sale date: rookie-era cards trade so rarely that a six-month-old result may be the latest
  • Parallel: Silver Prizms and base refractors are the liquid versions; colored numbered parallels price on their own curve

What the condition estimate and the collection add

Chrome and Prizm cards get graded more than any other soccer product, because a PSA 9 and a PSA 10 of a star refractor can differ by several hundred dollars. SnapCard's estimate names the centering, corner, edge or surface problem it found. A card already in a slab is read from its PSA, BGS, SGC or CGC label and priced against graded sales.

Saved cards go into binders you name, with search, purchase price and a portfolio value that updates as sales arrive. There is no account; Pro adds iCloud sync so the same collection shows on an iPad.

Questions about scanning soccer cards

how much is a messi card worth

It depends which Messi card. Modern base cards from Prizm or Topps Chrome sell for $2 to $15 raw as of 2026, and numbered parallels run into the hundreds. The 2004-05 Panini Megacracks rookie sells for thousands raw and far more in a PSA 10.

are match attax cards worth anything

Most base Match Attax sell for pennies, and bulk lots of several hundred go for $10 to $30. Limited Edition and 100 Club cards, and early seasons from 2007-08 onward, can reach $10 to $100 each. Price them against actual sales, not the rarity label on the card.

does the app work for uk football cards

Yes. Match Attax, Panini Adrenalyn XL, Topps Chrome UCC and Premier League Prizm are all identified as soccer cards. Sold prices appear as the marketplace recorded them, usually in US dollars, so convert to pounds before comparing with a UK sale.

what is a topps chrome uefa card worth

Base cards sell for $1 to $3 as of 2026. Refractors of established stars sit in the $20 to $200 range, and numbered parallels of Yamal, Bellingham or Mbappé have closed in the thousands. The 2020-21 and 2021-22 sets hold rookies of players who are now regulars, so those carry the most value.

can i scan panini prizm world cup cards

Yes. Prizm World Cup 2026 and the earlier 2014, 2018 and 2022 editions are identified by set, player and parallel. Check the serial number yourself on numbered cards before trusting the price.

is the soccer card scanner free to download

SnapCard is free to download with no sign-in. SnapCard Pro is $7.99 per week or $39.99 per year and covers unlimited scanning, the full condition estimate and iCloud sync. Scanning needs an internet connection.
